Throughout its history, Cannes has been the proud hosts of several international exhibitions, from the International Luxury Travel Market, to the Cannes Lions International Festival, MIPIM (world’s leading property market), MAPIC (international retail property market) or ECOC (European Conference on Optical Communication). Cannes has also hosted major conferences for tech companies such as Cisco, VMWare, Gartner, HP or Sony.
In March 2015 Cannes hosted 22,000 participants for MIPIM (the leading real estate event for property professionals).
The G20 Summit the city hosted in November 2011 would have to be one of Cannes' proudest moments. The Summit brought together state leaders and representatives of major global economies and the city was highly privatized for such an occasion. For example posters with the Summit logo and posters with "l'histoire s'écrit à Cannes" (“history is written in Cannes”) were displayed all over the city.
All this goes to say that event organizers can write their story in Cannes – and the Convention Bureau will help them write it.
